SELECTED PORTFOLIO 1983-1993

My work is more biomorphic than geometric, but I did this painting, Nature confusing Optical Art for Nature (acrylic on paper 1984), as a project for a color theory class. It is a parody on Victor Vasarely’s claim that his Optical Art was nature painting. (Note that the bees have a complementary color relationship to their respective cubes.)

Petrouchka (oil and acrylic) 1984

In The Non-Conforming Main Course (oil and acrylic 1983), I pushed the three dimensional aspects of my painting even more with cloth sculpture (a la Oldenburg) and found objects.

Muzak Nude (oil, acrylic, and found object) 1984

Telegraphing One's Intentions (oil, acrylic, and found objects) 1984

His Vigil Having Lapsed (oil, acrylic, and found object 1984) is another example of my 3-D Cartoon Style.

The Other Worldly Nude (oil, acrylic, and found objects) 1984
